I invested a small amount of money (16,000 naira) in Ecobank nigeria plc last year during their initial public offer and today the investment has tripled (48,000 naira). I was so amazed that such kind of legal money making opportunity still exists in nigeria. Assuming i invested 500,000 naira then, by now it'll be worth 1,500,000 (that's over a million). I see this not as the most profitable investment but as a suitable one for a student like me. But i wont be a student forever, i guess i have to move into the big boys haven and target at least 500,000 naira before the end of 2007. I guess i'll be buying into Access bank. I don't believe any educated nigerian will still be wound up with extreme poverty unless it's spiritual. With the nigerian environment becoming like this, i don't see any reason to go to the States except for vacation. Nigeria to me is more profitable for now. Honestly, ill even prefer it if all those nigerians abroad don't come home for now so as not to compete with us in becoming primary investors.
