What do you think? After many years of say 3 to 4 years running a blog site or forum and you are still not making enough to cover for your web expenses. Does Google cash really make sufficient money for bloggers and article writers living in Nigeria. The thing is that just like any other kind of business, it's not how long you've been doing it but how well, the smart get smarter and those who make profit suddenly make more once they understand what it takes to make money as a Google publisher in Nigeria. Some Nigerian writers make as little as $1 per week from their website and in a year, that's like only $52, but for others who have undertood what it takes to break even in the online market, they make as much as $100 a month, not to talk about those who have sufficient traffic and membership of about 100,000, they could as well be making as much as $5 per day. for me my earnings from my site normally dips and rises from say $2 to $8 per day and i'm begining to understand how to make more profit from this. I write this for Nigerian who are looking for jobs and for those who do not believe that fellow Nigerians are making dollars online to try and see wisdom in investing in a website about a particular niching. Over a period of time, I've understood and gotten some high paying keywords and profitable domain names that would make me more money than just owning a patriotic Nigerian site. You don't have to own a Nigerian newspapers site like the sunnewspapersonline.com in order to be cashing as much as $50 a day as they should be doing but Nigerian bloggers should blog about things like MP3 and mobile music and you would only see your earnings rise. Even the Nigerian market have niches where you can develop on such as "Nigerian news, Nigerian women or even Nigerian music". These are highly search keywords such when you become no 1 on google search results, you could be making as much as $10 per day without even selling the actual thing but by providing people with relevant information and where they can get what they want

You don't have to know about something so much before you start writing about it alhtough it's best if you really know about it so that you may be able to give your readers sufficient information that will encourage continous patronage to your site. But even if you don't have much to say about it, you can just write about your personal opinion on them, that's what most blogs are doing, bloggers just post their opinions on sites even though it may not be regarded as accurate information.

To get a google adsense code, you need to sign up with Google adsense as a member at https://www.google.com/adsense and once your aite has beewn approved, you'll be able to show ads on your site. In order not to get your chances reduced, make sure that your site really has good quality content and plenty of it. With this you will be able to sign up effectively for the program.

I'm not going to start digging for truth on "WHY" but the number of people interested to make money blogging grows at a fast pace and yet - most will fail, not able to even earn enough to cover hosting expenses. While the topic of blogging to make money is extremely extensive and there are many products that will teach you how, including my own (Expert WordPress), I want to write about what should be an absolute MUST have basics in order to succeed.

So dig into learning...
Google AdSense is a new, fast and easy way for small and medium sites to make money free online by displaying relevant, text-based, un-obtrusive ads from Google AdWords (Google's own advertising program) and receiving a share of the pay-per-click payment.
Because the ads are related to what your users are looking for on your site, the results can be much better than you'd earn from banner networks and many affiliate programs.
For now, AdSense is the best way to make money free online from informational sites even if there are no obvious related affiliate programs. But you don't need to disregard affiliate programs. You can combine both these ways to make money free online and double your income.
AdSense is easy to join, it doesn't cost you anything, all you have to do is paste a few lines of code into your pages, and Google does the work of finding the best ads for them from hundreds of thousands of AdWords advertisers. You can check the relevance of the ads by looking at the text ads on the right side of this page.

@oligie, well it depends on how you market your site. Google adsense works for those who know much about internet marketing and seo than for others. At times, it's not just about blogging. There are Nigerians making money from the internet through Google adsense and affiliate sales but you need to understand firstly, what Nigerians are searching for on the internet.

i think the whole program isn't worth it. Google adsense kinda underpays Nigerian bloggers despite the fact that Nigerian companies that bid on Google adwords pay almost the same price as their American counterparts. I think Google is just paying peanuts to African bloggers despite having a huge market here. They are the ones that set the price and the maximum you can ever make in a month for adsense.
Let's say the minimum living wage is $5 per day, Google adsense will harldy pay you more than tha and would maybe pay you as much as that if you are and old publisher. Once they see your earnings start rising, you see a message in your account about Google engineers going to work which is most likely to be a cost reduction work. So in terms of making money from the programme, I would like to see publishers taking more control of how much one can make from advertisers. I think Google adsense should like adbrite, allow publishers to set their own pricing for ads showing on their websites.

Google adsense, I think is big enough to be Nigerianized. You may not need another version of online advertising that could beat adsense which is a global brand. That setup may probably not survive or will only succeed if it becomes a global brand itself.

Actually Google adsense for desktop will not show on mobile browsers except the browser is capable of displaying full pages. If you have a mobile site, you can also integrate Google adsense codes on it and it will show ads.

Google Adsense is still working in Nigeria even though they have upgraded their policy and even change us to that of Ireland Republic for third world countries. It is still working perfectly though very strict with Nigerian because of this click fraud issue that most Nigerian are doing with their Adsense Account.
