To adapt to the new ageMy last point there about adapting to the new age is important. This is the internet age and the way we live is changing. It is not just about how we do business but also how wee socialize, communicate or contribute to our own society. The internet is taking over and it is like saying to us "ADAPT OR DIE". To learn and master the art of making money from the internet is a necessity for surviving in this age. Even people in developing countries are learning fast how to use the internet and monetize it. Check out countries that were far back a couple of years ago but are equally learning very fast like China. Developing countries too like Nigeria and Ghana are growing too and a lot of people there are even patronizing broadband service for their businesses and personal use.

Well, Charles, I f you would really like to start making money by blogging in Nigeria, perhaps it will be better if you tell us the website where you have a blog first and then people can contribute on how best to make money from it.
One way I would suggest you start making money from blogging is to blog about for e.g. MTN, Cell phones or Nigerian movies. You should post at least 500 blog posts each with at least 500 words and you would definitively start making money within 3 - 6 months

Charles, what you need are the right topics or niche to blog. It can be hard if your topics are not interesting to the general readers. Popular topics can get you more money from Adsense. Again, you need to do some SEO on your site such that it would rank high on search engines like Google and Yahoo

It is one thing to set up a blog and another thing to know what to write about. Since you may not exactly be good in Seo, why don't you just focus on writing about tech stuff like computers, laptops, phones, Internet and others in this area. Those are really what brings in the money. Health topics are also good if you can have a blog about that.

How much will it cost to set up a complete blog related to a niche including the hosting and domain name. Also are they any Nigerian web designers offering custom wordpress templates?

My best advice to those who don't know about setting up a blog is to contract it out to a web or blog designer. All you would need is the cash. Getting a blog designer to set up one for you could cost you around N15,000 to N20,000 for their services.
