If you are thinking of a better alternative to Paypal, then I would recommend that you use Alertpay.
Alerpay is a Canadian internet company that allows users to send and recieve money online. It also helps business and web companies to sell items online and get paid for it immediately. I am not here to talk about how you would integrate Alertpay into your website for selling but rather about the viability of using Alertpay for sending and receiving money online.
In Nigeria, Alertpay is quite popular and if you want to start using it, you need to do the following:
1. Register as a member at www.alertpay.com
2. Verify your account with your mobile phone.
3. Add funds to your account using liberty reserve, alertpay exchanger or direct bank wire.
Selling with Alertpay
If you have a website and want to start selling with alertpay, then you could upgrade you account to business account and generat a shopping cart for selling items on your webstore.
If you have a personal account, you can still receive funds using alertpay if you want to sell single items on your website or blog. All you need to do i generate a security code in your account, create an IPN handler and deliver virtual goods to customers who pay you with alertpay.
