Are you thinking of a way by which you can receive payments online? The internet is really a good platform for making quick money as it conencts you to potential customers globally as you have the ability to set up an online store on where you can sell your goods or services in return for online payment from your clients.
Receiving payments online is one of the reasons why a lot of companies in the US, UK and across the world have set up ecommerce websites so that theyr may be abel to receive payments from them. You could also take a cue from online donation website set up by virtuall all NGO's in recent times just to collect funds in order to help solve the problems arising from Haiti's natural disaster. Charity organisations like Yele, WHO, Medecins dan frontiers and others have collected millions from their websites just because they have a means of collecting payments online. Or should I also recall the huge donations received by Wikipedia from many fans after a period of appeal from the owner in order to continue their work and execute noble projects.
Wikipedia was able to make more than $6million from online payments received just because it had a platform to do so.
What all these companies or groups have in common was that they had a platform for accepting payments online such as a merchant account (Which requires US bank checking account), Paypal account (Which excludes certain countries) or other third party payment processors such as Google checkout.
How then does one start to receive payments if you don't have access to a US cheking account or Paypal? Perhaps, it is time you try other payment platforms such as
Alertpay
Liberty reserve
Direct Bank deposit
Alertpay
Alertpay is an alternative to paypal as it allows for the secure sending and receiving of money to anyone with an email address. It is much cheaper than Paypal as you don't get charged for sending or receiving money. You can start with a personal account and later move up to a pro account.
Liberty reserve
Liberty reserve is also an equally good means of sending money online. To send or receive payments with Liberty reserve, you will need a LR accountnumber which is an alpha-numeric number in the format U3949***. Liberty reserve is popular in Nigeria and you can get a lot of exchangers where you can buy or sell them. If you are selling a product online with Liberty reserve, you can get a web designer to set up your shopping cart and intergrate your liberty reserve account to it to allow buyers go to a return page where they can get the product(if virtual) after a successful payment has been made.
Direct bank deposit
If you do not have access to the above means of payment, you can try receiving payments by means of deposits made to your bank account. It ir normal for clients to pay their suppliers by means of bank deposits, the only thing is that such deposits will have to be confirmed before goods or services are delivered to the customer by the provider. Banks deposits are good and more affordable for goods which require physical or hand to hand delivery or cannot be delivered online. If you are offering services such as web hosting, domain registration, or selling retail items from your real store, bank deposits are good for receiving payments.
Customers can order for goods online from your website and then after ordering an email containing the account details and mode of payment. After confirmation, you can then proceed with delivering the good or service.
Being able to receive payments online will really help a lot of businesses go online with their products and hence help maximize their profits in a world that is growing in web technology

It is nice to know that we are thinking out of the box. Paypal may not be available for the over 6 billion earthlings and so it doesn't meant that we can't receive payments online without paypal if we wish to. There should be options and so more competition will help regulate the industry

Yeah, it is quite possible with Alertpay and even if you want to sell instant download items like eBooks and other virtual stuff, Alertpay offers IPN like Paypal which is very helpful for users selling those stuff online and wouldn't want to keep buyers waiting for their items
