What does it really take to buy online in Nigeria? A lot has been heard of many Nigerian businesses striving to introduce this online commerce in Nigeria, but the quetion is; how have there fared? How do they actually operate? Even if they set up an internet business for us to buy from their online store, is the buying process safe enough for Nigerian consumer? I've heard of Nigerian web hosting services being offered online for people to pay into a specified bank account, after which they'll recieve their settings in an email. What if the buyer changes his mind and asks for a refund? Is there any provision for that. Even after paymnent into the respective account, what is the assurance that the account owner would not flee the country after accumulating millions from Nigerian customers. The fact is that even if not all these online Nigerian concerns are fraudulent, they mostly do not offer satisfactory services. Truly the payment system has become improved with the advent of E-COMMERCE providign companies like E-tranzact e.t.c., it is still not safe enough for the Nigerian buyer since they are no specific regulating laws yet for online transactions and hence if online fraud was perpetuated, i doubt if E.F.C.C. would be able to protect those who buy online. I recall at the latter end of last year when E.F.C.C. made a comment that they could not tackle internet fraud, i hope that was in the past. I do also belive that in spite of all these risks, they are still some honest web companies in Nigeria where one could actually buy online and still be on the safe side.

Why all these clamour about buying online in nigeria? Only the future will tell. However, i do have a question. I got this credit card from Ecobank but ever since, i've not being able to use it for making payments on the internet, do you know of any site where i could actually use it? I've got a positive approach to this idea of buying online in nigeria; it seems to be working. Nigerian sites like buyright.biz actuallly sell computer stuff on the website and they could do delivery to your place through U.P.S.; it'S convenient and that's all the credit i can give to them. As for the pricing, it's way outta control.
