I was privileged to partake in the aptitude test for graduates seeking to enter into Intercontinental bank sometime last year at Ikeja, Lagos. I recived the invitaion by a letter, email and also sms. I just wanted to share my experience with you even i have not yet recieved any job offer from them. I arrived at the venue very early for the second batch to be examined. To my surprise, there were thousands and thousands of people that wanted to do the same aptitude test at the venue. Getting into the hall was something else as everyone was struggling to get in despite the fact they were security operative/police men stopping us from doing so all at the same time. I could no longer handle it and had to pull out of the crowd to relax but after i waited for about two hours and the crowd, still intimidating, i had to struggle my way in. As i was struggling with the crowd and going through the gates and into the staircase, policemen started spraying teargas at us at close range and i had already started climbing the stairs. I'd say, it's only God that saved me cos even though the windows were all locked in the stairway, i did not faint(i almost did) from the teargas and finally found an opening where i, along with many others, could have a taste of fresh air. We later went closer to the examination hall and at the hallway, there were a couple of people, mainly women who were lying down flat on the ground as a result of exhaustion, one lady almost died and had to be resuscitated back to life. If this is what it takes to work in Intercontinental bank or any other bank for that matter, i may very well choose to live a longer life by working for myself only. The aptitude test was disheartening.

On 22 Nov. 2008 (22/11/2008), I was opportuned to be one of the first group of people consisting twenty (20), missed-up with young graduates/job seekers and industrial training students from different states in Nigeria, from a crowd of not less than six hundred (6oo) that came to partake the aptitude test at Intercontinental bank plc, Olu Obasanjo 1, port-harcourt , which they did. In my group, there are three of my departmental guys which also came all the way from Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Imo State. As for the questions, it contains 100 questions comprising of sum calculatñ, current affairs and verbal aptitude, the time is 30mis. After this test, we are asked to come back by 4:00pm to check for the next process which i hang around, inside Mr. Bigg's opposite the bank. For any information contact me on 08068811198
