Why MASSOB? Why do we have a Movement for the actualisation of the Soverign State of Biafra within the Federal Republic of Nigeria? This logicallly points to anarchy or treason as you may call it. Why is it that thousands of young men and women of the Igbo tribe (One of the 3 major ethnic groups in Nigeria), mainly survivors of the 1967 Biafra - Nigeria war, are campaigning for a return to Biafra, an idea created by former military Igbo leaders who felt oppressed within the Nigerian state and decided to secede from the strongest miltary force in West Africa, a country which God made to be one? If there had been another way to be carved out of Nigeria, it would have been a better option, both for Nigieria and former Biafra, but the Army only understood the use of force.
MASSOB is becoming a growing concern, both for political as well as social interests and it's fronting itself as a non-violent association led by her leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, who was just released, temporary on bail to go and bury his late mother. It's a movement which aligns itself to the Biafran warlord, Chief Odumegwu Chukwuemeka Ojukwu and has recieved popular support.
