UTME means Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and is a unified yearly examination conducted by the Joints Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for students who seek to gain entry into Nigeria's tertiary institutions for further education. UTME is meant to replace the yearly Universities Matriculation Examination (UME) and PolyJAMB also conducted by the same JAMB.
UTME implies that such tertiary examinations for admission into Nigerian Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges will now be a single examination hence they will no longer be any UME or Polyjamb examination. It also implies that examinations will be held only once a year but students will still be able to make 6 choices from a range of institutions in order of preference such most preferred, more preferred and preferred for both first and second choices.
You can get more details from a template of the application form of the UTME found at www.jambutme.com
