I am interested in connecting my MTN phone with sim to my computer for pc browsing. How can I configure this please

If your phone already has the GPRS or internet service indicating on your phone and you are browsing, then you can also browse with your computer(pc) connected to your phone like this;

1. Install your phone software on you computer eg for a Nokia, you have nokia pc suite


2. Start up Nokia PC suite or other software


3. Connect the USB cable or bluetooth device to the computer and connect your phone


4. Pair your phone to the computer


5. If you can see that you can connect your phone to the computer then click on connect to internet on the software program


6. Before it connects, click on settings and set the configuration for MTN Ghana browsing. See settings below


7. Then click on connect


8. If it connects it will tell you "connected"


9. Now you can browse with your computer. Start up Internet explorer or Firefox to start browsing

MTN Ghana GPRS settings are:

Name: MTN
APN: wap
Proxy: 172.17.3.5
Port: 8080

no username or password

Did you get the HSPDA device from MTN, then what you will need to do next is just pay for the subscription at the closest mtn office. If you got it yourself, then it will be better if you activate it first with your phone and subscribe to internet browsing before inserting the sim back into the HSPDA device
