To get the MTN GPRS Settings for Ghana working on your mobile phone, you will need to do the following;
Send a blank text message in SMS to the number 686 from your MTN sim. .You will recieve the settings later. Save the settings you received, to your phone and also make sure that MTN DATA is seleceted as the default access point.

Yep,i tried it on my china cell phone. G-TIDE W6600 and it worked perfectly.
APN :.internet
IP :.172.017.003.005
PORT :.8080
i connected this to my laptop using Bluetooth and got the internet working on my laptop.You can try it either with cable or bluetooth too.
NB.it never got connected on the phone but through computer.

For dos who want mtn internet on their blackberry without data plan its easy but unfortunatly am not in ur hood 2 help,I can do it less dan 2mins! U can use it to browse send mms download etc..... But hey! I can't leave u without anitin ok? So try dis goto options>advance>tcp>APN change it to internet and leave da password n username blank.

I tried setting it myself with all the info I know: proxy, port, apn and what so ever but it wouldnt work. Pls I need your help.
