I just spent about NGN27,000 to acquire an internet connection for the month of november. That is BIG!. I said to myself, after almost a year of using starcomms dial up connection, it's now time for me to reward myself with a faster internet speed like Izap. I initially browsed through the catalogues of various broadband internet providers in Nigeria and was thinking that it was time i left starcomms to get that reliable internet service that i really needed. I looked into glos 3g as well as mtn's 3.5g internet services and their limitations. MTN's was okay except that the quota of 3gb monthly transfer was a backstabber. I also analysed Reltel or Zoomobile's internet service, Visafone and even Direct on pc. The last time i used direct on pc from a friend, the internet service was unreliable and after looking at most of these comoanies offering internet services in Nigeria, whether it is 3g or broadband, they all had their negative sides and i said to myself, it is better for me to stick to the devil i know than venture into the one that i did not know, so i finally decided to buy the starcomms izap with a whooping NGN27,000.00 from their office. The main reason i decided to acquire the starcomms izap connection was because the starcomms dial up connecton was slow and it really sucked. I didn't mind paying N7000 for their internet service per month but when there is no good service delivery after payment, is that not a fraud? If this was a GSM company. starcomms would have been told to compensate customers for their poor and unreliable internet service over the years and that could amount to billions of naira. Now with Izap, the story is the same and i am wondering why i even bought into this their service. Starcomms izap equally sucks and is really a fraud for me. I paid for broadband and what they are giving me most times is even slower than dial up. Even when they are fast, it is still not fast enough and really sucks.

I think it depends on your location Here in Surulere, the speed is ok and at least reliable. You can't expect them to be perfect though. I guess Nigerians are used to hiccups in social services like these just like NEPA.

Starcomms guys are really trying. All these gms companies likek mtn and glo are just trying to rip us off with their high rates and download limits.
Starcomms IZap Broadband Service is the fastest wide area wireless service commercially available today. It has typical download speeds of 300-600kbps, but is even capable of speeds of up to 2.4Mbps. I don't think you will be able to see any other 3g service that offers better and people oriented services like starcomms.

i am still using starcomms izap and i believe that i will be in a good position to say my experince so far. the internet conneciton is really fast and it can be faster if you are using it from a taller building than if you were using it in a bungalow. Also there are peak periods and slow periods but in all, it is way better that other dial up services that i know. Starcomms izap is the thing most Nigerians would prefer to use because of the bundle varieties as well as affordability. There are no hidden charges and no download limits. Imagine watching movies on youtube. I hope they continue without changing their fees. Infact, their customer base would explode if they should dare reduce their prices from whatit currently is

You mean N7000 per month on the average is fair enough. Well i think it is too high. Only that there is not that much real competition to reduce the internet costs

Well N7000 is just for those who pay for business time. Waht about those who pay for 24 hrs access at the whooping cost of N15950 per month. I would rather say that N7000 is chicken change, unless you don't have anything real that you are doing on the internet rather than using yahoo messenger.

But even if the guy uses starcomms for only his yahoo messenger, he has a right to demand for lowered fees.

i think you could even use their packages to run a mini cybercafe. Think of it, buying 100 hours purple package for N6500 will give one access for 24 hrs and for a 30 day period. You can then resell the time to internet users at N100 per hour. One can use starcomms to run a profitable business center.

i'll agree here that most internet providers are really reaping us up, and compasation has to be paid back to consumers. but doesn't this raise the long awaited question "when will africa get it's very own isp?" this rally sucks as we can afford it! besides the profit to be gained is immense! i am hoping one of the big providers would wake up and smell the profits from service!!!

Yours is fair, u're still browsing. I had my izap terminated. They gave me the story of spam/scam @*!t and that i couldn't use the device, N27k gone. That is a fraud and a Caveat to all users, be careful, better still beware. They're out to make their millions, don't get in that list. For me am through, for more info, mail me, got a similar problem, we might press charges collectively.

Guys,
Atom, 08064262668,is a fraud,if he's making such amount of money as he would want us to believe, you wouldnt find him here advertising via this forum. He claimed he knows some survey sites where you can earn $2000-$3000,i tell you this is a pure lie,you cannot find any survey site paying more $50 per month and this is only possible if you are US resident.Let's reason together,if this guy is making money out of these programmes he wants to teach, you would never find him here.

I don't know if it covers Ibadan, but it works in most places in Lagos. If the Izap broadband doesn't work in your area then they will automatically switch you to Dial up

Starcomms Izap is a broadband service but it is really slow. If you use a broadband service in London or Hong-kong, then you will know what I mean by F-A-S-T.
It is bad if you can hardly watch a movie clip on Youtube with Izap. There was also a time my Izap service got suspended just because I was using BitTorrent to download movies, I mean, what am i expected to do with the 24 hours service while I'm sleeping at night? They should allow me to keep my internet service running the downloads while I'm asleep
