If you've been using the GSM phone in Naija for long now, you may have wondered if they were other ways one could recharge his phone credit without the usual search for recharge card vendors. The truth is that with your ATM card in Nigeria, there are other ways you can recharge your mobile phone as long as you have your ATM card.
You can reload credit on your phone in two ways;

Online and
Offline

Online Recharging:
If you want to recharge your phone credit using the online means and you have an ATM card, you can do this if you have internet access and I wouldn't recommend using a public cafe because of viruses and trickers who may steal your ATM details. It is better if you have a private internet service at home or office. To buy credit, just go to Interswitch or Etranzact website to buy the card of your choice selecting your preferred network.

Offline Recharging:
To buy recharge cards offline with your ATM card, just visit any local ATM machine. Most Atm machines provide this service, I know of Intercontinental and UBA bank. Just slot in your card and enter your pin. After you select the service you want like Recharge and then Phone number >> MTN/Glo/Zain and then the amount. When you are through, you will have to confirm it and then remove your ATM card.
The credit will be loaded on your phone and you will get a notification.

Thanks a lot for the information. But i want to know how i will be able to protect my ATM card when using it online. I have been exposed to fraudulent withdrawals before and i don't want to use my ATM card online again

Well, i would advise you for security case when using your ATM online is not to use it in any cybercafe. Use it only when you have a private internet connection. Also only use it on interswitch recommended sites using their platform for processing. You can see a list of the recommended sites in their website
