In Igbo, the word "Osuji" means one who pounds yam. Now, we know that in Nigeria, there are a lot of women, mostly housewives who prepare pounded yam meals for their families and if you ask me, this is not an easy task.

Well after doing some Googlin for other stuff, I somehow ran into a Nigerian website that sells Osuji - a Yam pounding machine. I don't know if this is made in Nigria but it would really be useful in Nigeria. The job of the machine is to basically pound yam. Well, if you ask me, this would be a good gift husbands can buy for their wife to ease their burden in pounding yam.

Pounding yam may be a good form of exercise for housewives at home but it can be strenuous at times to it won't hurt for a women to also have an option of using technology to make the work easier.

Osuji - the Yam pounder is available at the website http://yampounder.gnbo.com.ng and the price sells from around N27,000. You don't have to pay any money forward as they can do a home delivery to you and then you pay on delivery.

Their website has a lot of helpful details on how to use it and there is a Youtube video too. What a woman who wants to pound yam with it simply has to do is prepare the yam and add it to the machine which will then do the rest. It's a nice technological invention.

Please DO NOT BUY the Osuji Yam Pounder. It is a very bad product. I bought a unit on the 18th March 2015 and had this delivered to me in Ikeja-Lagos by one of the Sales Representative (One Pastor Emmanuel). The glass lid was broken while installing and his promise to return with a replacement has not happened since then. Email and phone calls to 080 3479 1815 has not been returned. The lady in charge of the email address (osujiyampounder@yahoo.com) never sign her name-a further proof of the bad product they sell.
