The best way to know where to start is by making at least a visit to Nairaland.com to see what software it runs with.Nairaland software:
It seems to be running on Powered by SMF 1.0.12. and you can get the software here: download.simplemachines.orgIt is actually running on an old version of SMF and has had some modifications by the webmaster.Set up web hosting and domain name
Once you have downloaded the software, you then need to install it on a website or host where your site is hosted. You should have also purchased a domain name like that.As your site grows:
You may need better hosting services and may need to migrate to servers with unlimited bandwidth and more space.Things you will need:
- A domain name - about $10/year
- Web hosting - about $50 a year
- SMF software - see www.simplemachines.orgAfter setting up your website or forum, you may decide to do some customizations such as removing the - index from the page title. See: http://mywebmastertips.com/how-to-remove-index-from-smf-forum-home-page-title/ for a guide on how to do that
